These standards are set out by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles of North America. Some of these standards include that the car falls within a certain age range and have less than a certain amount of miles on the odometer. How does a Chrysler vehicle earn the "Certified" stamp of approval from FCA?
In order to meet all of FCA's stringent requirements, each Chrysler vehicle undergoes a comprehensive 125-point inspection and a reconditioning process only using authenticated Mopar parts. Each vehicle must meet five requirements (have under 75,000 miles on the odometer, five model years old or newer, no frame damage, a clean title, and any aftermarket accessories do not comprise the operation or safety of the vehicle) before the vehicles are sent to the inspection. The inspection then makes sure all ownership materials are present and then comes the mechanical standards. These standards cover the pre-road test underhood checks, operational checks, the road test, steering performance, equipment operation, powertrain performance, braking performance, vehicle comfort, and the post-road test. Maintenance standards are also part of the inspection and they cover any and all fluid inspections and changes. Each car must also meet the appearance standards both inside and outside the vehicle in regards to the condition and detailing.
