Jeep totally redesigned the iconic Wrangler for the 2018 model increasing the comfort and capability of this SUV to unmatchable levels! The Wrangler is ready to hit the trail during your weekend adventure or the highway for your weekday commute with modern technology and off-roading features. The Wrangler is available in two body styles. The two-door offers a four-passenger seating configuration is known as the Wrangler and comes in three trim levels. The four-door five-passenger model is known as the Wrangler Unlimited and is offered in four trim levels. Each model and trim level offer different levels of technology and off-roading features so we're going over each one in detail so you can find the one that meets all your wants and needs!
Sport
Both body styles offer a Sport model. Underneath the hood of this trim, you will find the Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 260 lb-ft of torque and 285 hp. This engine comes paired with a manual six-speed transmission with the option of an automatic eight-speed transmission. You can opt for the available and brand new 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. Standard features include a one-piece rear folding seat, cloth upholstery, 17-inch steel wheels, a height-adjustable driver's seat, a fold-down windshield, fog lights, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, manual mirrors and locks, full metal removable doors with crank windows, a full-size spare tire, tow hooks, and skid plates. Standard technology features include a USB port, eight-speaker sound system, a five-inch touchscreen interface with Uconnect, a rearview camera, CD player, Bluetooth connectivity, and an auxiliary audio jack. The Unlimited Sport model gains a rear seat with 60/40 split folding, air conditioning, and a larger gas tank.
Sport S
The Sport S model builds upon the Sport model with features like sun visors with vanity mirrors, air conditioning, keyless entry, 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, a security alarm, heated and power-adjustable mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and power locks and windows. You can find the Sport S model in both the two-door and four-door body configurations. Sport S models are powered by the standard Pentastar engine paired with the manual six-speed manual transmission. You do have to option to power your Sport S model with the turbocharged 2.4-liter inline-4 engine and the automatic eight-speed automatic transmission.
Sahara
The Sahara model is only available in the four-door five-passenger body configuration. This model comes equipped with features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, a 115-volt power outlet, automatic LED headlights, painted exterior trim and body panels, automatic climate control, LED fog lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, satellite radio, a seven-inch touchscreen interface with Uconnect, a larger driver information display screen, and an additional USB port. This model is also powered by the V6 engine and six-speed manual transmission. You also have the option to equip the Sahara with the 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine and the eight-speed automatic transmission.
Rubicon
The Rubicon model is available in both body styles and can be powered either engine options but the 3.6-liter V6 is standard. Each Rubicon model is equipped with features like an additional USB port, 17-inch alloy wheels, 4.0-to-1 low-range gearing, a heavy duty Dana M210 front axle and an M220 rear axle, off-roading oriented tires, an electronically disconnecting front roll bar, 17-inch wheels, electronic front and rear locking differentials, and rock rails.
There are a few option packages and stand-alone options for the 2018 Wrangler. They include a nine-speaker Alpine sound system, a body-colored hardtop, higher quality soft top, a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen interface with navigation, a heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, heated seats, remote start, and blind-spot monitoring.
