What kind of power and handling can I expect from the all-new Wrangler?

One thing the All-New Wrangler retains in its redesign is its tried-and-true standard engine. Pentastar's award-winning 3.6-liter V6 continues to power the Wrangler, putting out 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. This year, the Pentastar has been enhanced to offer greater fuel economy than ever before, and now achieves up to 23 miles per gallon on the highway. Two-door models equipped with the V6 are capable of towing up to 2,000 pounds, and the four-door Wrangler JLU maxes out its tow capacity at 3,500 pounds. While the engine is important, the real draw of the Wrangler has always been its off-road capability, and the heart of that capability is a rugged 4x4 system. In 2018, the all-new Wrangler is available with your choice of three available 4x4 systems. Read on to learn more specifics about the Wrangler JL's 4x4 systems and other off-road accessories.

What off-road features and mechanisms are available for the 2018 Wrangler?

As we stated earlier, there are three available 4x4 systems available for the all-new 2018 Jeep Wrangler. First up is the Selec-Trac 4x4 System, which utilizes a full-time mode that automatically detects rough conditions and switches from 2WD to 4WD and back again as needed. Selec-Trac expertly handles uneven driving surfaces and unsavory weather conditions, and offers a more efficient drive when 2WD is all that is needed. Next up, the more rugged Command-Trac features an NV241 GII transfer case for shift-on-the-fly capability. With a 2.72:1 low range, Command-Trac will allow you to crawl over rough and rocky surfaces with ease, and also features a neutral range perfect for towing. Finally, the ultimate off-road experience can be yours with Jeep's celebrated Rock-Trac system. This system is standard on the Rubicon trim, and features enhanced control and torque over whatever terrain you may encounter. Other available off-road mechanisms include Tru-Lok electronic locking front and rear differentials, an electronic front sway bar, hill descent control, 33-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires and more.

What safety and security features are available for the all-new Jeep Wrangler

The all-new Wrangler is outfitted with some of the latest safety mechanisms to ensure the security of all passengers. Passive safety features include high-strength steel beams which improve vehicle stiffness and side-impact performance, advanced front and side airbags, a tire-pressure monitoring system with a full-sized spare tire and more. Automatic crash notification is available, as well as a passive entry system which automatically unlocks doors when the key fob is in close enough proximity. A ParkView Rear Back Up Camera combines with a Uconnect touchscreen interface and an available ParkSense Rear Park Assist System combine to give you confidence no matter which direction you're driving in, and assist in parallel and perpendicular parking with sonar sensors. In terms of more advanced safety tech, a Blind Spot Monitoring System is available, as well as Rear Cross Path Detection. Both systems utilize radar-based sensors to detect objects and vehicles and send you real-time alerts.
