Jeep began manufacturing the Cherokee in 1974. Originally, the Cherokee was a full-sized SUV with two doors. In 1984, Jeep began production of the second generation of the Cherokee. That second generation was the first Cherokee to be built on a unibody platform instead of the Wagoneer platform. Capability
Jeep is known for being comfortable both on and off the road, and the 2019 Cherokee follows that tradition. The Cherokee offers an available Jeep Selec-Terrain Traction Management System with five selectable modes to help provide stability on a variety of terrains. Three engines are available on the Cherokee: a 2.4 liter TigerShark MultiAir2 engine, a 3.2 liter Pentastar V6 engine and a 2.0 liter Turbo engine. Any of these engines can be paired with a nine speed automatic transmission for maximum fuel efficiency and optimum performance.
